I was another sellout showcase at this years 2018 Tamworth Country Music Festival with people coming from all over Australia to see our fabulous ‘faddle of fiddlers’. Yes! That’s the collective noun for our fiddling favourites – a ‘faddle’ and a fantastic faddle it was with Andrew Clermont bringing a myriad of amazing artists the stage and of course the effervescent Pixie jenkins hosting the event at the Capitol Theatre in Peel Street.
Presented By Epoch Strings this show is described by many as the highlight of the festival
With two very special families – The String Family (constantly touring Australia) & String Loaded (Bluegrass/ Celtic/ Scottish Family Band with an arm-load of recent Awards!)
The whole Fiddle Family – Fiddle, Viola, Cello & Double Bass will presented through the morning.
Cousins A & F Mandolins together with a double size Mandola presented by Paddy Montgomery (ex-Mustered Courage), Pete Fidler (prince of the dobrolic plectural society) and the Tall MD himself, Andrew Clermont.
Second half will be shook by Devil on the Rooftop formed by Jess Randall (The Crooked Fiddle Band) drawing on Medieval roots, hard-driving Bluegrass and Eastern European ’Gypsy violin’ traditions. They combine heart-stopping suspense, jaw-dropping fluidity, mind-bending rhythms, tear-jerking passion and a slightly odd sense of humour.
Plus our favourite West Australian, Jude Iddison with new dancing fiddle tunes.
