Golden Fiddle Awards

The Golden Fiddle Awards is the first awards system embracing all musical styles, which focuses on nurturing, supporting and rewarding the wealth of violin playing, performance and composing talent in Australia and New Zealand.

The Golden Fiddle Awards are for players, composers and teachers of classical, folk, rock, jazz, punk, celtic, country, bluegrass and alternate violin.

The big surprise at the Golden Fiddle Award show in January 2011 was the impromptu appearance of country recording star Kasey Chambers, who performed a soulful duet with a Golden Fiddle Award winner Ashleigh Dallas. Ashleigh, who has recently toured with Kasey on her Little Bird tour, was a joint winner (with another up-coming star Emma Barlow) of the Youth Achievement Award for 2011. The pic shows Ashleigh (left) and Kasey in action on the Golden Fiddle Award stage.

Winners of the 2012 Golden Fiddle Awards were announced at the Golden Fiddle Show at the Tamworth Town Hall on Australia Day. And who was the mystery recording star at the Show – none other than Troy Cassar-Daley? That's who! You should have been there – the audience went wild.
