James Gillard, who plays with The Flood and was on the winning album playing with The Stormwater Boys, accepts the award for Paul Kelly & The Stormwater Boys for best CD by a band featuring fiddle. The presenter was multi instrumentalist and GFA director Andrew Clermont

Jazz violinist Ian Cooper, who plays regularly with James Morrison took off two awards at the Golden Fiddle Awards in 2006. Here, GFA director Marcus Holden presents him with his award for best CD by a fiddler soloist, called Big Band.

The Golden Fiddle Awards category for Best Fiddle Composition was won by The Common Koel by Nigel MacLean. The award, presented by an honorary judge of the Golden Fiddle Awards, Evan Williams was accepted on Nigel’s behalf by legendary Australian fiddler George Washingmachine.

President of the Australian Country Music Foundation and managing director of the Independent Country Music Bulletin (one of the sponsors of this event) - Mr Bob Kirchner presents the Gold Coast band, The Bostocks, with the first Golden Fiddle Youth Achievement award. Receiving it are (from left) Robert Bostock (lead guitar and vocals), Brendan Bostock (drums and vocals), Rachel Bostock (violin, rhythm guitar and vocals) and Sara Bostock (bass guitar and vocals)

The Best Band Featuring Fiddle winner at the Golden Fiddle Awards was The Davidson Brothers. Golden Fiddle Awards President Mark Mitchell presents the award to their sister, Ailsa Davidson.

Jazz violinist Ian Cooper is named best fiddler soloist and receives his Golden Fiddle Award from Roger Corbette, one of the legendary musicians from that great Australian icon, the Bushwhackers.
