Open to all. Held during the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Note: There is no closing date for entries to this contest. Enroll on the day.

This contest is a joint initiative of the Golden Fiddle Awards and Andrew Clermont and his Supper Club
and is sponsored by Epoch Musical Instruments
The judges use their discretion to award additional prizes where very young players with promise are competing against very experienced players. Epoch Musical Instruments graciously provide an instrument as an extra prize in these situations.

THE RULES
The contest is open to all fiddlers (amateur or professional) of any style, not just bluegrass and country.

The judges will take into account all aspects of performance. For further details, please contact:

Heats will run at Andrew Clermont's Supper Club.

Competitors are restricted to one piece with a maximum time limit of approximately five minutes.There are no restrictions on the type of backing used.

Judges take in account professional and/or amateur status.

First prize: Epoch Electric/Acoustic Violin(VE4) valued at $1,750
Junior prize: Epoch Acoustic Violin (VA2) valued at $950

Samara Redman, age16, captivated the audience with her playing and was presented the first prize of a Gold Epoch Violin by the judge of the competition, Tom Fitzgerald.

Sixteen year old Lachlan O’Donnell from Armidale (member of the up and coming, gypsy folk  band, The Gypsy Hot Club)wins the open and receives a $2000  Gold Flagship Model  Epoch Violin.

Nine year old Emily Little from Tamworth, wins the Junior Division and receives the latest 1/2 size Chameleon Epoch violin. She was the star of the competition winning the hearts of over 600 people in the audience with her energetic version of the popular Irish jig, Drowsy Maggie.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as the prize fiddle with the Australian flag was handed to 13-year-old Stephanie Eldridge of Nathalia, Victoria
